NOW & THEN: OUR JOURNEY

NOW & THEN: OUR JOURNEY is part of a series of initiatives led by Northern Ireland Screen for the Legacy Trust UK Connections Programme, funded by Legacy Trust UK, an independent charity set up to help build a lasting cultural and sporting legacy from the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and is managed by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.

This website forms part of the NOW & THEN: OUR JOURNEY initiative and is a partnership between Cinemagic, The Nerve Centre and Northern Visions/NVTV.

This partnership aims to provide a range of film events, screenings, workshops and masterclasses over the next 3 years in the run up to the Olympic Games in 2012. Up coming events include an annual film making camp for young people and a week long documentary filmmaking workshop for over 18’s.

Local community groups and schools will also be supported to produce video blogs on the themes of significance to the ideals of the Olympics games.

'NOW & THEN - OUR JOURNEY' SUMMER DOCUMENTARY SCHOOL KICKS OFF THIS WEEK AS PART OF 'LEGACY TRUST 'CONNECTIONS' PROGRAMME.

Twelve young filmmakers, aged 16-25, have commenced a week of filmmaking activities under the guidance of Northern Visions and Cinemagic International Film and Television Festival as part of a week long summer television documentary school taking place from Monday 8th August – Friday 12th August 2011. The young people are based at Northern Visions, in Belfast city centre.

The young people from Lisburn, Belfast, Ballymena, Donegal, Greenisland and Derry will spend the week working on a sports themed documentary. Industry professionals lending their support to the school include Brian Henry Martin, Doubleband Films and Paul Reilly, Reporter and Presenter, ITV Daybreak Northern Ireland............
